I am dedicated to providing care that values empirical research and a strong therapeutic relationship.
I consider myself an exposure-oriented therapist. I believe in helping my clients realize their untapped potential. I use the gold-standard approach for OCD, Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP). I completed the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) intensive ERP training with the International OCD Foundation. Furthermore, I was trained by Dr. Michael Greenberg in Rumination-Focused ERP. I am also well-versed in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Existential/Humanistic theories. Moreover, I use a trauma-informed approach and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am equipped to treat an array of mental disturbances; however, I specialize in OCD and anxiety-related disorders-including Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, and Phobias.
I have experience working within the private practice venue and psychiatric hospitals. Before private practice, I facilitated therapeutic services among multidisciplinary teams, where I learned the value of diverse perspectives when conceptualizing mental health disorders.
I am passionate about staying abreast of contemporary scientific findings on psychotherapy. I received my Master of Social Work from Texas Christian University and my Doctorate of Social Work from The University of Kentucky. In an attempt to bolster ERP efficacy, my doctoral research focused on examining the impacts of using self-compassion strategies adjunctly with ERP.
Individuals with anxiety are among the most kind-hearted, compassionate, and hardworking people I’ve encountered. I find it a privilege to devote my efforts to supporting this population. I came by it honestly; therefore, my empathy is abundant.
