OCD and Anxiety Treatment in Dallas

Megan Troxler, MSW, LMSW

I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, teens, and young adults navigate OCD, anxiety and related disorders, perfectionism, and periods of change or transition. I enjoy supporting clients as they build confidence, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful change in their lives.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of meaningful change. My goal is to create a therapy space that feels warm, accepting, collaborative, and safe for every individual I work with. I approach clients with curiosity, empathy, and genuine respect, believing that you are the expert of your own life and experiences. I value creating a space that feels authentic, conversational, and grounded, where clients can feel both supported and challenged in meaningful ways. Therapy can feel vulnerable and difficult at times, but you do not have to navigate it alone. I strive to walk alongside my clients with compassion, authenticity, and support as we work toward a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and aligned with what matters most to you.

My passion for working with OCD and anxiety comes not only from my professional training, but also from my own lived experience. Because of this, I understand how overwhelming and isolating anxiety, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, chronic worry, perfectionism, and self-criticism can feel. Many individuals struggling with OCD and anxiety carry a great deal of shame or fear around their experiences, and I believe healing often begins with feeling understood, accepted, and supported without judgment. My hope is to help clients feel less alone while empowering them with practical tools and evidence-based treatment approaches.

My work is grounded in evidence-based therapies including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for OCD and anxiety disorders. I believe that understanding what we are experiencing, how anxiety and OCD function in the brain, and how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact can help create lasting change. Together, we will work collaboratively to better understand your experiences while building skills that support long-term growth and healing. While symptom reduction is important, my goal is also to help clients create lives that feel fulfilling, connected, and rooted in their values rather than fear. I recognize that therapy is not one-size-fits-all and strive to tailor treatment to each client’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Alabama and my Master of Science in Social Work with a clinical focus from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My clinical experience includes working in outpatient mental health settings providing individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention services for individuals experiencing severe mental health concerns and substance use disorders. While I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan, I am especially passionate about helping those navigating OCD, anxiety, panic, life transitions, school stress, and related challenges.

In addition to my clinical experience, I am trained in CBT for anxiety and OCD. I am deeply passionate about this work and committed to continuing my education and staying informed on current research and treatment approaches that best support my clients. My hope is that clients leave therapy feeling more confident, supported, and equipped to move toward the life they envision for themselves.
