Hi, I’m Megan
Megan Troxler, MSW, LMSW
Therapist at OCD and Anxiety Recovery, LLC
Specializing in guiding children, adolesents, teens and young adult within OCD and anxiety treatment.
Growing beyond OCD & anxiety, together.
Growing up and growing through life can feel a lot harder when OCD or anxiety gets in the way. I love helping clients understand what keeps them stuck, so they can make room for the moments that matter. I especially enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults, with a focus on OCD and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), such as skin picking and trichotillomania. I hope therapy can feel like a place where you can be fully yourself and feel a little less alone.

I specialize in anxiety, OCD and BFRBs, such as skin picking and trichotillomania. I have a particular passion for working with people who feel their lives have been put on pause, or that important moments have been taken from them, because of OCD or anxiety. I also love working with clients who feel lonely in their thoughts or feel they’ve had to carry their struggles quietly. I especially enjoy working with younger clients, because it gives me the chance to be creative and approach therapy through a different lens.
-
I use:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP),
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and
Habit Reversal Training-Enhanced Behavior Therapy for trichotillomania and skin picking, as well as
Rumination-Focused ERP.
I take part in ongoing clinical supervision and consultation focused on evidence-based care.

What to expect
-
My sessions are relaxed. I want the space to feel comfortable and truly yours, so you can come in as yourself without needing to have everything figured out. I like structure and direction when it’s helpful, and I also value simply being human and building a genuine connection. If something feels unrelated to OCD or anxiety, there’s room for that too. Sometimes life just needs to be talked about.
-
I tend to click with people who are curious about themselves and want to understand why their OCD or anxiety keeps showing up. It helps to be open to the idea that therapy is a process and that meaningful change takes time. Many of the people I see are newer to therapy, or have been in therapy before but haven’t tried ERP.
-
Homework is always something we plan together. My goal is for it to feel achievable while still being meaningful, and connected to your goals and daily life rather than feeling like one more task on your list.
